Carbon Monoxide Detectors

For most jurisdictions, there are specific ordinances that require the installation of carbon monoxide detectors.  These detectors can be part of an alarm system, or can be a stand alone device powered by battery or connected to a 110 outlet.  Some stand alone devices  that are powered by a 110 outlet are also supported with a back up battery.  The location of this device should be within 15 feet of a gas using product:  gas fire log fire place, gas water heater, gas furnace, gas stove or grill, etc.  A good device should emit a warning signal, or provide a voice warning.

Monitoring Service Take Overs

We have been receiving many requests for both fire and burglar alarm system takeovers.  That is great news!  But, the process is not all that simple.  Why?  Well, the folks at ADT are not willing to give out the installer code to their customer.  Without the access we cannot change the system programming to update the account number and receiver dial out number.  ADT claims that if they were to release the code[s] sic would violate confidentiality, they fear that codes would "drop" into the wrong hands.  We agree.
